Frequently Asked Dental Questions – Chesapeake, VA
Learning More About Your Dental Care
Each appointment is a chance for Dr. Troisi and the rest of our dentistry team to teach our dental patients more about oral health and the best strategies for keeping smiles safe and healthy. If there’s something you want to know about our dentistry services or dental health in general, check out the frequently asked questions below, then call our dental office to ask anything that isn’t covered here.
How Often Should I Visit the Dentist?
The ADA recommends that you see your dentist at least two times a year, and we agree; biannual checkups give us the opportunity to look for gum disease and tooth decay while they’re still easy to treat.
How Long Will It Take to Get My dental Crown?
Our dental office uses the CEREC® system to design and manufacture crowns in-house, which essentially means there’s no wait time; you can get a dazzling, natural-looking crown placed in just one appointment.
Do You Place Dental Implants?
Yes, we do! At our dental office, you can schedule a dental implant consultation, have the posts surgically placed in your jaw, receive your abutment, and have the final restoration designed and placed all in one location. If you schedule an appointment with us today, we can help you figure out whether or not implants are the best choice for your smile.
How Can You Help My Special Needs Child?
We can make accommodations for children with a variety of physical and cognitive conditions, and our patient team members will be by their side the whole time. Let us know if your child has any special needs before you schedule an appointment for them.
What Should I Do If I Have a Dental Emergency?
We can schedule a same-day appointment if you have a severe toothache, significant dental damage, or another kind of dental emergency. Call our dental office immediately and let us know what your symptoms are; we can advise you on how to manage your pain before you get to our dental office.
How Can I Improve My Smile?
Veneers, direct bonding, and in-office teeth whitening are just a few of the options we offer for eliminating the imperfections from your smile. Just let us know what kind of changes you want to make during a consultation, and we’ll work with you to create a smile makeover plan.
Do You Take Dental Insurance?
Yes, we take many different insurance plans, and we offer in-network coverage for many common carriers like Delta Dental and MetLife.
